Use extra caution when buying a house in the winter, especially when there is a blanket of snow on the ground. The snow is often a blessing for the seller by hiding defects in the property such as cracks in the walkways, the driveway or even the foundation. Buyers might not walk the property as thoroughly (if at all) during the winter as they would as on a summer day because of knee high powder, the cold temperature and a windchill.
